Appellate Practice

Our appellate practice spans the spectrum regarding the types of issues it addresses.

Steve Kaflowitz, former chief appellate attorney for the Union County Prosecutor's Office from 1984 to 2007 and presently the Firm's Director of Appellate Practice , recently argued before the NJ Supreme Court and was the impetus for changing the ways police officers are required to retain their investigative notes. See (citation for Beltran).

Among the many other notable appeals includes the Supreme Court case of Russo v. Bd. of Trustees, 207 NJ 15 (2011), in which Mr. Kaflowitz successfully petitioned the Supreme Court to alter the standard by which accidental disability claims are evaluated to lessen the burden of applicants seeking to obtain retirement benefits.
